Total Health Evaluation Program™

The Total Health Evaluation program is a comprehensive suite of diagnostic evaluations to detect the presence of life threatening diseases. The procedure is personalized to your needs and reviewed by a board certified physician and may include all or some of the methods below:

PET: PET evaluates the presence of a tumor and/or inflammatory disease(s) in
the head to upper femur region.

MRI: MRI helps to find some benign or malignant diseases that are not
easily depicted by PET. MRI is particularly suited for evaluation of brain and reproductive organs.

CT: CT is very useful to find some forms of benign and /or malignant diseases that are not detected by PET. In addition, CT is better than MRI for lung evaluation.

Simulated Stomach Endoscope: Although a real endoscope is preferred, this procedure helps to evaluate the presence of more advanced disease status in the stomach.

Echography: In certain situations this procedure is superior to PET, CT or MRI
for evaluations of the liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen and kidney.

Blood Tests:

  • Liver function tests
  • Kidney and pancreas function tests
  • Thyroid function tests
  • Viral hepatitis and other infectious tests
  • Glucose metabolic tests
  • Lipids and uric acid tests
  • Inflammatory reaction tests
  • Electrolyte tests
  • Tumor markers
  • General blood counts
  • Urine tests - General urinary analysis

Immunotherapy Treatment

Immunotherapy also known as biotherapy is a treatment that encourages ones own immune system to fight cancer and other diseases. At the Tokyo Clinic immunotherapy is used to treat early stage cancers and to help other forms of treatment for advanced cancer. Immunotherapy is a less toxic treatment option that works by stimulating your own immune system to work harder or smarter and by giving your immune system components, such as man-made immune system proteins to fight cancer cells.

Hyperthermia Treatment

Hyperthermia is a type of cancer treatment that uses the application of concentrated therapeutic heat to kill cancer cells. Due to its increasingly impressive research and clinical track record, it is considered as "main-stream" as surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, and is now recognized as the "fourth modality" in approved cancer treatment. In normal tissues, blood vessels open up, (dilate) when heat is applied, dissipating the heat and cooling down the cell environment. Unlike healthy cells, a tumor is a tightly packed group of cells, and circulation is restricted and sluggish. When heat is applied to the tumor, vital nutrients and oxygen are cut off from the tumor cells. This results in a collapse of the tumor's vascular system and destruction of the cancer cells. Research has shown that high temperatures can damage and kill cancer cells, usually with minimal injury to normal tissues (1). By killing cancer cells and damaging proteins and structures within cells (2), hyperthermia may shrink tumors.

The Combined Therapies

The combined therapies of activated autologous immune cell therapy and hyperthermia for cancer

Tokyo Clinic

Cancer patients are increasing dramatically in Japan. Today, one third of Japanese dies of cancers. Standard treatments such as surgical operation, radiotherapy and chemotherapy try to cure cancer patients. However, approximately 40% of them died within 5 years. Although many doctors do not care of the imbalance of host immune system by cancer and their treatments, it is very important to readjust the imbalance of immune system to improve the efficacy of the treatment. To activate the immune system, we developed the combined therapies of new activated natural killer (NK) cell therapy, specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) therapy, and hyperthermia.

For the activated autologous immune cell therapy we stimulate and expand the following autologous immune cells from blood under Good Manufacturing Process (GMP) conditions:

  1. Cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTL) which respond tumor specific antigens and kill MHC class I positive tumor cells
  2. Natural killer cells (NK cells) which kill MHC class I negative tumor cells
  3. Immature or mature dendritic cells (DC) which develop CTL in the patient’s body.

Hyperthermia can also kill malignant tumors directly and indirectly through an augmented immunological effect. Our non-invasive regional hyperthermia treatment of deep-seated malignant tumors is performed by means of an 8-MHz capacitive heating device, the Thermotron RF8 (Yamamoto Vinita Co., Ltd., Osaka, Japan). This is the only therapeutic instrument approved for this type of use by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan.

The combination treatment of our new immune cell therapies and hyperthermia activates both the innate and adaptive immune systems. These combined therapies could improve the Quality of Life (QOL) and prognosis of patients with various malignant diseases without any severe adverse reactions.

Patient Testimonial - March 23, 2007

To Whom it May Concern:

By way of introduction, my name is Dr. Roberto Crea, President/CEO and Founder of CreAgri. I am writing this letter on behalf of the Tokyo Clinic and its affiliate Southern Tohoku General Hospital and Clinics, Koriyama, Japan.

Last year I decided to accept the invitation by a Japanese-American friend of mine to undergo a complete "Total Health Evaluation" check-up at the Tokyo Clinics. I am 58 years old and never had a thorough check-up before, so this was a unique opportunity for me to do it in a well-qualified and specialized hospital.

As I was traveling to Tokyo in October, I decided to dedicate a two-day period to accomplish this check up. I arrived at the Hospital the evening of October 9, 2006 and I was allowed to spend the night at the Hospital in a private room so I could be ready for the tests by the following morning. I found the accommodation to be excellent with all assistance, hospitality and comfort one expects from a private clinic.

The following day, I was met by the head physician and test coordinator, who explain to me all the tests I had selected (A-Course) and the various procedures involved in each test. The first test started approximately at 9:00 AM. I was assisted during the whole morning by an English-Japanese interpreter and by a number of hospital personnel. The tests, including PET Scan, MRI, CAT-Scan, GI simulation and blood analyses, were each conducted by a specialist physician, promptly and efficiently. I was directed from one lab to the other with no delay and clear instructions, and never during the procedures I experienced discomfort or uneasiness. At the end of the morning, after the last test was finished, I was told to return to my room, change into my clothes and have lunch at the clinic’s guest restaurant.

At 2:00 PM I had an appointment scheduled with the head physician/coordinator to discuss the test results. I was received in the office of the coordinator and allowed to sit in front of several computer screens. The diagnostic results were explained to me clearly, comprehensively and thoroughly by the doctor. I was also told that a hard copy of all the results would be mailed to my private address in the US soon after.

My Total Health Evaluation was extremely helpful and rewarding. Based upon the results of this check-up in Japan I was able to coordinate a series of follow-up tests in the US with my personal doctor to confirm the presence of an early polyp in my lower colon which was then removed surgically by a specialist in California. Polyps are recognized to be the first stage of potential colon cancer.

This experience in Japan at the Tokyo Clinics was a major milestone for my health and disease prevention. The entire check up cost me less than $2,000 has given me a complete picture of my current health status and is helping me to closely monitor some of my age-related medical conditions. I intend to repeat the tests in Japan in the future and I am strongly recommending the same experience to my family and close friends.
